Cooking style & philosophy

At Farmers’ Market Mama, my goal is to bring the fresh flavors of our vibrant Northern California farmers’ markets to your table. I craft nourishing food from seasonal produce and high-quality, sustainable ingredients to create a personalized dining experience in the comfort of your own home.

There’s so much food inspiration in our amazing region. Colorful farmers’ markets. Seasonal produce. Heirloom beans and grains. Small-batch dairy products. Sustainably farmed and sourced proteins. I know it’s been said countless times, but we are so lucky to have these resources in our backyard!

I try to rely on the flavors from these beautiful ingredients to make dishes that are comforting and approachable, but not unhealthy or overly rich.

Thanks to my background and travels, I am happy to create food using a range of flavors and techniques. I grew up with a strong Mediterranean influence from my Italian-American family, and I studied abroad in Italy in college. My husband is Venezuelan (and I have lived in California for over 15 years), so I love to pull out some Latin dishes - especially arepas and empanadas. I am confident playing with Asian flavors - I lived in Japan for nearly four years and have traveled to many countries in Asia. I also try to take a cooking class every time we travel, so I can learn as much about the local food and traditional techniques as possible. These experiences help me find a range of dishes to suit your personal tastes and come up with menus that you’ll be excited to try.
