Sample Menus

I will happily tailor your menus to suit your needs, but here are just a few examples of some menus I’ve cooked for personal chef clients recently. Most of my clients at the moment are families with younger children, so I these menus reflect a balance of trying to find food that both kids and adults can enjoy.

Menu 1:
Yakitori meal
Japanese-style grilled skewers (organic chicken meatballs with tare sauce, organic Japanese sweet potatoes with sesame oil, tokio negi) served with organic rice, togarashi, and pickled cabbage.
Yuzu Salmon Rice Bowls
Wild salmon with a sticky yuzu glaze, grilled organic asparagus, and grilled organic snap peas over rice.
Steak salad
Grilled rosemary-citrus marinated grass-fed flank steak, blood-orange roasted organic beets, grilled organic asparagus, rosemary-garlic sourdough croutons, goat cheese, sunflower seeds, shredded organic carrots, and sliced radishes over organic greens. Served as a build-your-own salad with pasta for the kids. *kid favorite*

Menu 2:
Rosemary-Lemon Chicken Noodle Soup
Organic chicken breast, farmers’ market veggies, and pasta in a broth flavored with rosemary, Meyer lemons straight off the tree, and parmesan. *kid favorite*
German-ish Pork Tenderloin with Apples and Fennel
Roasted pork tenderloin on a bed of roasted organic cabbage, apples, fennel, and bacon.
Maple & Cinnamon Organic Steel Cut Oats
Maple syrup from a friend’s land, Burlap & Barrel Royal Cinnamon, organic dairy, and toasted organic steel cut oats. *kid favorite*

Menu 3:
Roasted Chicken in Buried in Gingery Wild Rice
Gingery Rancho Gordo brown rice with tender, organic, slow-roasted chicken. Served with a side salad and homemade vinaigrette.
Butternut Squash Mac ‘n' Cheese
Mac ‘n’ cheese fortified with extra nutrients by pureeing roasted organic butternut squash into the cheese sauce. Served with a side salad with homemade vinaigrette. Can add chorizo or bacon. *kid favorite*
Brothy Beans
Rancho Gordo beans and farmers’ market veggies in a savory broth. Can be made vegan, vegetarian, or include pancetta or Italian sausage. Served with crusty Night Heron bread and fancy butter. Can also include pasta to be more kid-friendly.

Menu 4:
Venezuelan arepas
Venezuelan-style arepas with assorted fillings (such as chipotle-braised chicken, crema, avocado, grilled steak, black beans, plantains…we can find the perfect filling for your taste!). Can add on mini coconut tortas tres leches for a sweet finish. *kid favorite*
Baked Pasta with Hidden Veggie Meatballs
Cheesy pasta in a homemade tomato sauce. Beef & pork meatballs with grated zucchini and carrots melted into the meatball. Served with garlic bread and a side salad with homemade vinaigrette. *kid favorite*
Sous Vide Egg Cups
Organic eggs sous vide in a mason jar with your favorite breakfast ingredients until custardy. We love them with breakfast sausage and cheese or spinach, ham and cheese. *kid favorite*
