Hiring a personal chef
A personal chef may sound like an expensive luxury. It’s certainly not for everyone, but it may be more affordable than you think.
I know that my own family consistently spends $75+ for dinner delivery and we don’t really know much about the quality of ingredients we’re getting. A friend recently confessed to spending $65 to order McDonald’s DoorDash for her family because it was easy, they were all busy, and life got in the way. This is not uncommon for busy folks or people who don’t enjoy cooking.
If we’re honest about how much we spend on takeout and meals, a personal chef may not add much to your food budget but will take away a lot of stress (and, sometimes, a little guilt) and free up some time.
My sessions start around $300 per session, and the cost varies based on how many people we’re feeding, how many meals you’d like, what type of meals (breakfasts/lunches/dinners), and if you have a strong preference for organic ingredients. For example: a session where I make 3 dinners for a family of 4 typically costs around $300-$375.
Here’s how a session works:
A few days before your session, I’ll send you a menu tailored to your requests and needs. If you’re not excited about something, we can revise the menu until you’re happy. I do all the planning and shopping before I get to you.
The day of your session I take over your home kitchen, cook, then clean up and leave delicious food for you. The goal is for you to essentially not even know I was there (at least after the first session), so it’s like a magical food fairy came and left amazing, homemade meals in your fridge or freezer (or on your table for dinner).
Just the other day, a client picked up her two kids from school and came home to a beautiful, kid-friendly meal waiting for them on the table and a clean kitchen. She even had enough leftovers for her lunch the next day.
How can you get started?
1. Contact me to submit an inquiry. Feel free to include any questions!
2. I’ll reply within 2 business days with answers to your questions, and a link to a survey so I can get a really clear idea of what you’re looking for.
3. We will set up some time for a quick chat to ensure we’re on the same page, and then we can coordinate a date and time for your first session.
I look forward to cooking for you! Please don’t hesitate to reach out with any questions.
